We’re still in the grips of winter, but the heart of the tennis year is only a couple months away. Here are a few steps for getting into the proper mindset.
Step one. League captains, the registration deadline to get in your minimum rosters is approaching for the early leagues… Trio and Mixed 18+: March 3; Adult 18+: March 10; Adult 55+ and Women’s Daytime Doubles: March 31. And interested players, sign up on our Find-a-League page on the BTA website or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Step two. A pre-season tradition, the men’s Spring Ladder competition, is accepting sign-ups. This is run by Kathy Webber, our former league coordinator and current tennis organizer extraordinaire. Though this isn’t an official BTA function, it is a good way to get your competitive juices flowing. This is a men’s ladder running from February 22nd to April 19th, with one 3.5 division and one 4.0/4.5 combo division. Registration deadline is February 19th. To register or find out more, email email@example.com.
Step three. Watch some good competitive tennis and support your local team. Our CU Women’s Tennis season continues through April 21st, with upcoming indoor home matches vs. Brigham Young on February 17th and vs. Indiana University February 19th. Believe us, these young women can crush the ball! For more information, go to https://cubuffs.com/sports/womens-tennis/schedule.
That’s it for now. See you on the courts!
