BTA uses PayPal as its tool for all online payments such as membership, league registration, winter socials or Saturday drop-in. However, you DO NOT need to have a PayPal account to pay for these transactions. The PayPal site allows you to pay by credit or debit card. (Please note: if you do have a PayPal account, it will try mightily to get you to sign in to your account rather than pay by credit or debit card.)
Also, keep in mind is that PayPal can be a little glitchy. Several users have reported that PayPal wouldn’t work for them, or would stall out at some step, but when they tried again later it worked fine. So rule number one: If you’re having trouble, try again a minute or two later, and then a few hours or a day later. If that doesn’t work, and the instructions below don’t help, then contact vicepresident@bouldertennis.org for troubleshooting or for other payment options.
Let’s start the process…
After clicking the pay or submit button on the BTA website, whatever you’re paying for, you’ll be sent over to the PayPal website to complete the transaction. Once you arrive at the site, these are the steps…
1… The first screen you see should be the one below. Choose “Pay with Debit or Credit Card.” (If you have a PayPal account, you will not be shown that link. Instead it will say “Try Another Way” under the login boxes. Select that link.)
2… Next, you will see a “Pay with Credit or Debit Card” form. Fill out the whole form and click “Pay now as guest” at the bottom.
3… Next, you’ll get a PayPal confirmation page. Please wait a decent amount of time, say ten seconds, to see if you get automatically transferred back to the BTA website. If you leave PayPal too early, the payment sometimes doesn’t get registered with PayPal.
4… If everything works, you will be returned to the BTA website. If that doesn’t happen and you have to manually leave the PayPal website, no worries. You will receive an automatic payment confirmation message from PayPal shortly thereafter, and probably another automatic confirmation message from the BTA website. If you don’t receive any email confirmations within a few minutes after the process, the transaction probably didn’t happen. Try again, or contact vicepresident@bouldertennis.org.
5… If everything goes according to play, you’re done! Again, if you have any questions, or run into any difficulties, contact vicepresident@bouldertennis.org.
